UNIX Users: For detailed installation instructions, refer to the "install.pdf" files located in the installation media platform directories. For information on ArcGIS Pre 9.3 GDB Direct Connect and the ArcGIS 9 Uninstall Utility refer to the section "ALSO INCLUDED ON THIS DVD" below. INSTALLING ARCINFO WORKSTATION 9.3 1) Windows Installation Browse to the "windows" directory on the installation media and run "setup.exe". 2) Sun Solaris Installation Execute these commands: cd your_desired_install_location /your_dvd_mount_point/solaris/install -load When prompted for the "CD-ROM mount point", enter: /your_dvd_mount_point/solaris 3) IBM AIX Installation Execute these commands: cd your_desired_install_location /your_dvd_mount_point/aix/install -load When prompted for the "CD-ROM mount point", enter: /your_dvd_mount_point/aix 4) HP HP-UX Installation Execute these commands: cd your_desired_install_location /your_dvd_mount_point/hpux/install -load When prompted for the "CD-ROM mount point", enter: /your_dvd_mount_point/hpux 5) ArcDOC Installation on UNIX Execute this command: cd your_desired_install_location Execute the command from the following list that corresponds to your platform: /your_dvd_mount_point/arcdoc/install.hp -load /your_dvd_mount_point/arcdoc/install.ibm -load /your_dvd_mount_point/arcdoc/install.solaris2 -load When prompted for the "CD-ROM mount point", enter: /your_dvd_mount_point/arcdoc ArcGIS Pre 9.3 GDB Direct Connect Direct Connect drivers which allow an ArcGIS 9.3 client to connect to a 9.0, 9.1 or 9.2 SDE geodatabase. Installation

• Download zip files to a temporary directory and unzip the files
• Write the unzipped files on a DVD.
• Follow a Quick-Start Guide.
