Installation

Download a file to an EMPTY temporary directory
Extract the .zip file to recreate the install CD-ROM image. You can delete the .zip file.
Write a CD-ROM or run the setup file from the temporary directory.
You can delete all files in the temporary directory after installation.
Where it says 'insert CD' below, just navigate to the directory with the CD image.

ArcGIS 9.2 INSTALLATION GUIDE

All previous version of ArcGIS software must be uninstalled before installing 9.2. This does not, however, including the ArcGIS License Manager as your existing ArcGIS License Manager and licenses will continue to work at 9.2

1. License file

Your existing ArcGIS Desktop 9.0/9.1 keycodes will continue to work with ArcGIS 9.2. There is no need to get new keycodes unless you choose to change your existing license options.

2. Set Up the License Manager

• Save the license file (*.efl9) to the machine you intend to use as a license server.
Note: This machine can be the same machine where the ArcGIS software is installed.
• Plug in the hardware key.
• Insert the ArcGIS Desktop installation media and install the License Manager.
• Browse to the saved license file and restart the machine once the installation is complete.

3. Install ArcGIS Desktop

• Install the ArcGIS software to the desired location by following the installation instructions.
• At the License Manager Option screen, select the Browse to a License Manager on a network option and enter the name of the machine where the License Manager resides.
Note: If the License Manager is on the local machine, an option to select that machine is provided.
