Installing ArcInfo Workstation

Note: You should already have installed ArcInfo Desktop on your Windows desktop before installing ArcInfo Workstation. If you have not done this, please do so now!
• Save the zip file to hard disk.
• Extract all files to a temporary directory and then recreate a CD-ROM (CD-ROM is optional)
• You can now delete the zip file or save it for another installation.
• Execute SETUP.EXE to install the product from temporary directory or CD-ROM.
• You can delete all files and sub-directories in the temporary directory after installation

ArcGIS 9.2 INSTALLATION GUIDE

1. License file

Your existing ArcGIS Desktop 9.0/9.1 keycodes will continue to work with ArcGIS 9.2. There is no need to get new keycodes unless you choose to change your existing license options.

2. Set Up the License Manager

• Save the license file (*.efl9) to the machine you intend to use as a license server.
Note: This machine can be the same machine where the ArcGIS software is installed.
• Plug in the hardware key.
• Insert the ArcGIS Desktop installation media and install the License Manager.
• Browse to the saved license file and restart the machine once the installation is complete.

3. Install ArcInfo Workstation

At the opening installation screen, select either install ArcGIS for individual use or install ArcGIS on a network. Proceed to the next screen, select the Browse for a License Manager option, enter the name of the License Server, and click the Query button.
