Pre Installation Tips

Complete installation instructions are included on the CD images.
This product does not require a license server; however, registration is required.

Note: I do not recommend this version.
ArcView is NOT the same as ArcGIS.
ArcGis provides more features for the same disk space.
All you need for ArcGis is a $30 hardware key.

Installtion

Download a file to an EMPTY temporary directory
Execute the .EXE file to recreate the install CD-ROM image. You can delete the .EXE file.
Write a CD-ROM or run the setup file from the temporary directory.
You can delete all files in the temporary directory after installation.
Where it says 'insert CD' below, just navigate to the directory with the CD image.

ArcView
Insert the CD on the CD drive to automatically start the setup program (or navigate to the setup.exe file and double-click). Follow the instructions on the screen.

ESRI Software Documentation Library
Insert the CD on the CD drive to automatically start the setup program (or navigate to the setup.exe file and double-click). Follow the instructions on the screen.

ArcGIS Desktop Developer Kit
The ArcVIew installation presents the option to install the ArcGIS Developer Kit. If you choose this option, the ArcVIew setup will prompt you for this CD

Crystal Reports for ESRi
The ArcView installation presents the option to install Crystal Reports for ESRI. If you choose this option, the ArcView setup will prompt you for this CD.

ArcReader
ArcReader is now a function of a typical installation. If you want to install the ArcReader stand-alone application, insert the CD on the CD drive to automatically start the setup program (or navigate to the setup.exe file and double-click)

ArcGIS Desktop Tutorial Data
The ArcGIS Desktop installation presents the optino to install the ArcGIS Desktop tutorial data. f you choose this option, the ArcGIS setup will prompt you for this CD
