Paul Schopis Appointed to Cisco National Reasearch Board
Because of Paul's expertise and national reputation in testing MPLS and Abilene router selection, he was a natural fit for this board which meets every six months in San Jose, California. Paul says the CISCO board makes recommendations regarding the development and direction of new and emerging technologies and offers opinions regarding the direction of standardization efforts, as well as which technologies look the most promising. Only a handful of engineers from the dozens of GigaPoPs across the country, of which OARnet is one, were invited to join the CISCO research board. Paul hopes that his involvement on this board will allow OARnet to benefit from the international base of experts, as well as share OARnet's expertise with the international community. Congratulations, Paul! |
