Originally from Pakistan, Arif is Director of International Operations for PLANWEL, a non-profit organization working to bring education and technology to developing countries. "Education is really needed around the world," says Arif. "You can change communities and whole nations just by educating them. For example, if you have telemedicine, you can provide health care from professionals affiliated with really good hospitals. These are the types of things that are going to make a difference." Arif received a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Karachi Pakistan NED University and a Master's in City and Regional Planning from Ohio State University in 1994. Former Ohio Senator, John Glenn, nominated Arif to receive his permanent U.S. residency permit under the National Interest for Exceptional Professionals program. |
Arif Khan is a Network Engineer for OSC Networking. As a network engineer, one of Arif's specialties is H.323 videoconferencing. He is responsible for setting up, maintaining, scheduling, researching and rehearsing all components of H.323 with people from Ohio, across the nation and around the world. H.323 is able to provide remote access anywhere around the world. Arif also dedicates a lot of time to the Internet2 Megaconference.
