Commodity Internet (Internet 1)

OSC Networking provides direct connection to the general public network known as the Internet. This connection to the internet can be done via T1’s, OC’s, or other broadband services. For our OSC Networking membership, we also offer the IntraOhio bandwidth option. This means we charge less for network traffic IN-state as opposed to regular commodity Internet.

Internet 2 Service

OSC Networking is proud to offer connectivity for Internet 2. Internet 2 is a non-profit consortium which develops and deploys advanced network applications and technologies, for education and high-speed data transfer purposes. This is paid for by an educational or research facility on a site fee structure with unlimited access. Secondary access from a partnering educational institute is also available to fit smaller access needs.

Co-Location

  • Server Co-location and Storage Device Co-location
  • Server Co-location includes: 100 mb ethernet port with access to the internet and environmentals, 20 amps AC power, 2 hours UPS, and one shelf space.

Additional space and power available – please call 1-800-627-6420 for more details.

Technical support is also available – please see http://www.osc.edu/networking/support or call 1-800-627-6420 for more details.

Videoconferencing

OSC Networking offers H.323 (IP) videoconferencing service to member institutions. Our video services include connecting up conferences or classes and monitoring the equipment running those classes to make sure they remain connected.

Engineering Consulting

OSC Networking offers engineering consulting services on a case-by case short term basis.

All engineering services must be pre-negotiated to establish the hours and resources required for the specific project.  Long-term engineering resources may be available upon request.

Satellite Trailer Costs

The Satellite system can be used for distance learning and special events where reliable, terrestrial Internet connectivity is not available. It is operated by one person.

Outside of Ohio the cost would include additional mileage costs from the Ohio border, and all expenses including lodging and meals.

Pease call 1-800-627-6420 for more details.
