Jim Giuliani
Client and Technology Support Manager
Jim Giuliani serves as the client and technology support manager for the Ohio Supercomputer Center.
Giuliani leads the Science and Technology Support Group, which provides training and user support to the OSC user community. Giuliani also works directly with OSC clients to help convert computer codes, so these researchers can efficiently use the center's supercomputers and licensed software.
He also conducts research in parallel program development and performance tuning with the Message Passing Interface (MPI) library, focusing on the area of computational structural mechanics.
Giuliani is the recipient of the NASA Lewis Awareness Award, for his work with the Advanced Earth-to-Orbit Propulsion Team, and the NASA Certificate of Recognition for Software Development, for his work with the ROCCID program for analyzing designs of liquid-propellant rocket engines.
Prior to joining OSC, Giuliani served as operations manager for The Ohio State University department of computer and information science. He also has held research and development positions in industry and at The Ohio Aerospace Institute in Cleveland, Ohio.
Giuliani earned a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering in 1991, with a minor in computer and information science, and a master's degree in mechanical engineering in 1997, both from The Ohio State University.
