Ann Zimmerman
As manager of client services at the Ohio Supercomputer Center, Ann Zimmerman oversees the client services team that supports the members of OSCnet, the nation’s leading high-speed research network for K-12, higher education and economic development.
Zimmerman’s team assists higher education institutions with obtaining last-mile network connections to OSCnet for Internet and research applications. The client service team works with users and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction and resolves all technical issues related to their network and Internet connections.
Additionally, Zimmerman’s team promotes video conferencing, co-location and disaster recovery services, as well as Blue Collar Computing an OSC initiative to make high performance computing accessible to a wide spectrum of industries and applications, and Internet 2, a networking consortium for research and education.
Prior to OSC, Zimmerman worked for Quest Communications for 10 years. There, she managed a group that supported network applications for an eight-state region.
Zimmerman earned her bachelor’s degree in English education from Rutgers University, and is currently pursuing training in instructional design and technology to better understand the use of technology in the classroom.
