Ohio Supercomputer Center
This workshop provides an overview of the supercomputing and related resources offered by the Ohio Supercomputer Center. As a state-supported institution, OSC provides supercomputing and other resources for Ohio academic researchers and their collaborators. OSC is funded through the Ohio Board of Regents (see www.osc.edu).
This four hour workshop covers essential introductory information for OSC. The first two hour session will cover the currently available hardware and software environments, including a survey of the various paradigms for parallel computing. The procedures for getting access to OSC supercomputers, and other applicable resources such as training, consultation and advanced scientific visualization, are also discussed.
The second two hour section will touch on the technical issues involved in accessing OSC resources. Methods for connecting to OSC systems, how to schedule simulations through the batch system, and using the storage infrastructure will be discussed.
