Flow 3D

Introduction

Flow 3D is a general-purpose CFD program with many capabilities. Flow 3D is paricularly good for free surface flows. Finite-difference or finite-volume approximations to the equations of motion are used to compute the spatial and temporal evolution of the flow variables.

Version

Version 9.0 is currently available at OSC.

Availability

Flow 3D is available on the P4 Cluster, the BALE Cluster and the IBM Opteron Cluster.

Usage

Please complete and return the "Academic Agreement to Use Flow 3D." This form can be obtained from the file flow3d.txt , flow3d.ps or flow3d.pdf located in the Academic Agreement Forms.

Technical support is available through Moti Mittal at moti@osc.edu.

The command to execute Flow-3D is flow3d.

Before using the flow3d command, you should execute the module command thus:

module load flow3d9.0
flow3d options files

Documentation

Copies of the Flow 3D User's Manual are available at OSC for reference.
