July 16, 2004 Academic Agreement to use Partek Pro at the Ohio Supercomputer Center The OSC currently has a license for Partek Pro (hereinafter called SOFTWARE) that allows for academic use and commercial use. Our agreement with Partek requires that we make a good-faith effort to inform each individual granted acadmeic access of the common understandings governing academic usage of SOFTWARE. This form is the means by which we make this effort and at the same time obtain the information we need to monitor access to SOFTWARE. You should read the points below, complete the bottom of this form, and return it to the address mentioned below. You will then be validated for academic use of SOFTWARE. The overriding idea is that you are granted academic access for the purpose of conducting scholarly academic research. This means that you will not use academic access as a means of direct personal monetary gain nor will you use academics access in such a way as to cause direct monetary loss to any private business concern. Academic access is permissible if the funding is earmarked for academic institutions and the inputs, programs, and results arising from the research will be made freely available to anyone and without delay. The foregoing condition is met for OSC grants and federally funded academic research. If you publish the results of the research for which you seek academic access, this publication will be made widely available and the Ohio Supercomputer Center and the use of SOFTWARE will be acknowledged. You will not attempt to copy or distrubute the source, object, or executable versions of SOFTWARE. You also agree to make a good-faith effort to acquaint students under your direction, coworkers, or others who make use of your OSC account to use SOFTWARE of the content of this agreement. Ideally each academic user should see and sign a copy of this form.
