Introduction to Altair HyperMesh
Description
Altair HyperWorks is a high-performance, comprehensive toolbox of CAE
software for engineering design and simulation. The goal of this class is
to develop an understanding of how to apply the tools in HyperMesh to the
CAE analysis process.
A tentative list of topics that will be covered in this two-day course are:
Day One
- Introduction to HyperMesh
- Geometry cleanup and Midsurfacing
- Shell meshing and model assembly
- Model setup and Analysis (setup BC's and loads and solving in
OptiStruct)
- Post-processing with HyperView (editing the legend and creating HTML
reports)
Day Two
- Preparing Geometry for Meshing (including geom cleanup, midsurfacing
and defeaturing)
- Assembly and Meshing (including connectors, bolted connections, meshing
multiple parts, checking element quality and the quality index panel)
- Animating transient results (contour, section cuts, notes, measures,
tracing, tracking)
- Modifying Plot Characteristics and Attributes (editing curves, scales,
offsets, axes etc...)
- Creating Plots and Animations from LS-DYNA (including generating report
templates)
- Integrating Animation, Plot and Video files (synchronization)
