Structural Analysis Software Applications
Description
This course covers in detail how to run ABAQUS and LSDYNA finite element
analysis models on the OSC high performance computing systems. While introductory
material will be provided, this course will not cover all of the material
needed for a new user to learn about these packages. Users wishing to learn
about these packages are welcome to attend, but additional vendor training
would be required to learn about all of the modeling capabilities and features.
Material is presented through a combination of lectures and hands-on lab
sessions. The focus is how to run an analysis with these codes on the OSC
machines. Participants will receive a brief introduction to the technical
details of each package and gain experience with each package by programming
a prepared example problem. Topics covered for each package include methods
for building models, executing the solver in batch mode and viewing results
with the post-processor.
