In order to connect to remotely render datasets, use this client. Unzip the application, and double-click on the vncclient application. You should see a dialog similar to the one below:
Simply enter your username and password to authenticate to the server. There are a number of default settings one can configure, at the moment access to glenn is not stable. Loading is NOT instant, please give at least a minute to allow the connection to go through!
The first option allows for selection of a different screen size. To resize the window, the whole session will need to be restarted. This option allows for a user to select a size that best suits their usage.
The second option allows for the user to select a specific server. This option is currently not in use.
After all settings are used, press the "Ok" button to authenticate.
Once the job has been started and you've been given a desktop similar to the one shown. Now you can run any visualization application by opening a terminal and prepending 'vglrun' to any executables that are run from the terminal.
To test if remote rendering is working correctly, type 'vglrun glxinfo', which should return a list similar to this:
If any errors report that 'GLX' is missing on the display :X, then vglrun was not used or a different error has happened.
