SUG Homepageinput { width: auto\;}Poster & Flash Talk CompetitionThere has been a lot of exciting science produced using OSC resources during the last year\, and one purpose of the SUG meeting is to highlight those new developments. A second purpose is to foster connections between OSC staff and the SUG members. Finally it is important for OSC to get constructive feedback from the SUG members as to the future of OSC and its role in supporting science across Ohio. One goal this year is to enhance graduate student and postdoc attendance at the SUG meetings. We will host two half-hour talks on areas of interest to OSC users by outside speakers. We also will have several short 'flash talks\,' including talks by graduate students and/or postdocs. In addition\, we will have a poster session to highlight the research and emerging ideas of graduate students. Posters and talks will be selected from submitted abstracts. Presented posters and flash talks will be awarded 1\,000 RUs on OSC systems. The posters and talks will be judged\, and the top poster and flash talk each will receive a grant of 5\,000 RUs. Furthermore\, the winning poster and talk will be highlighted next year in OSC's annual Research Report. The second-place poster and talk will each receive a grant of 2\,500 RUs on OSC machines.See IMPORTANT DATES.We also encourage posters by students just starting their work\, showing creative ideas on how high performance computing will enhance their research. OSC also is offering to print out posters\, from uploaded electronic copies\, as a courtesy to the selected presenters\, and the posters will be displayed to the public throughout the year in the hallways of OSC.In addition\, if a grad student or postdoc brings a non-OSC user to the meeting\, their group will be awarded 1\,000 RUs.During the usual committee meetings in the morning (starting at 10:30 a.m.)\, there will be short training sessions.
