OSC's goal with BALE is to evaluate, implement, and support new and emerging information technologies. The term "blueprint" reflects the dissemination of best practice technologies to statewide users. Just like blueprints, these technologies are open to modification.

BALE is a showcase for dynamic and flexible environments to present best practice information technologies and yet remain flexible for accommodating rapid changes in emerging technologies.

BALE is designed to:

  • Serve as a testbed to demonstrate the utility of merging media and simulation environments
  • Support a diverse approach to implementing and studying human-human and human-machine interactions
  • Implement scalable technical solutions to fit higher education budgets
  • Provide information on products and implementation
  • Enable remote participation and recording
  • Facilitate not only lecture, but other modes to communicate information
  • Provide resources to demonstrate, build and support government, industry and academic collaborations

BALE offers a unique learning environment that is available for use by the Ohio research community, and is also available for rent by the general public for workshops and events that coincide with the OSC mission.

If you have additional questions or would like to rent OSC's BALE for your next event, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you in creating a unique experience in this one-of-a-kind environment.
