COLUMBUS, Ohio – Dec. 13, 2006 – His third time playing was a charm. Dr. Alan Chalker, senior systems developer/engineer at the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC), recently won the 14th semi-annual MATLAB Online Program Contest on Dec. 6, 2006.
(June 24, 2012) –Widely recognized Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) programs to support the development and expansion of advanced manufacturing align closely with a new national initiative to help U.S. manufacturers improve cost, quality and speed of production in order to remain globally competitive. Announced today by the White House, the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (AMP) will bring together industry, universities and the federal government to identify and invest in key emerging technologies – information technology, biotechnology and nanotechnology.
"These new hires will provide systems and user support for the equipment located in Springfield," said Kevin Wohlever, OSC-S Director. "We are excited to bring these quality people on board and look forward to the contributions that they will make to our operations."
As systems developer/engineer, David Bertram leads support of the Apple Cluster that will serve a large number of OSC users and provide a testing environment on this unique architecture. His future goals at OSC are to make project users' lives easier and to maintain staff machines.

Congratulations to Greg Kilcup, associate professor of physics at The Ohio State University (OSU)! He recently received OSU's Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. Dr. Kilcup also serves as chair for OSC's Statewide Users Group.
Research team continues DoE project with 17M-processor hour INCITE award
Columbus, OH (February 10, 2010) – A multi-institutional research team that first tested a computer modeling program at the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) has received a prestigious 2010 Innovative and Novel Computational Impact on Theory and Experiment (INCITE) program award.

(nasdq:SUNW) and OSC (Ohio Supercomputer Center) today announced OSC's selection as a Sun Center of Excellence in High Performance Computing Environments (COE-HPCE). The Sun COE-HPCE is a collaborative project between OSC, The Ohio State University (OSU), University of Cincinnati/Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and University of Akron. The combined investment totals more than $7 million.
