U.S. Educators Travel to Vietnam

Columbus, OH -- July 28, 1995 - Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the Midwest Universities Consortium for International Activities (MUCIA) announce their upcoming seminar entitled "U.S. Education Into the Twenty-First Century." This joint program, to be presented at Hanoi's West Lake Village on July 31 and August 1, features three prominent speakers from leading universities in the United States and senior level MOET officials.

Ohio Supercomputer Center Hosts ALTAIR Software Workshop

Columbus, OH – October 9, 2006 – Learn the latest about some of the most robust engineering software packages available at the Ohio Supercomputer Center's (OSC) workshop, Using Altair HyperMesh and Hyperview.

This three day session will be held on October 16 – 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, in OSC’s BALE theater at no charge. Geared toward engineers, the workshop will cover Altair HyperWorks’ high performance, comprehensive toolbox of CAE software for engineering design and simulation.  Attendees should have a basic knowledge of finite element analysis.

Doctors deliver high-tech training to Central America

Columbus, Ohio (February 8, 2011) - Two surgeons from Central Ohio recently traveled to Nicaragua on a humanitarian mission to treat children with serious ear, nose and throat conditions. However, this year they brought along some help in the form of high-tech equipment designed to appeal to a generation that grew up playing video games – not to entertain the children, but to train the local doctors and medical students.

OSC's Multilevel Parallel Programming Course Now Online at NCSA Website

OSC has designed one of two new online training courses offered by the National Computational Science Alliance (NCSA) Partners for Advanced Computational Services (PACS). These parallel programming courses are designed for the high performance computing (HPC) user community. The Multilevel Parallel Programming Course was primarily created by the Science and Technology Support (STS) group at OSC (Ohio Supercomputer Center), lead by Leslie Southern.

Ohio private, liberal arts colleges offer courses in parallel computing

Columbus, Ohio -- March 24, 1997 -- Capital University in Columbus and Ohio Northern University in Ada are often recognized for their programs in music, law or a traditional arts program, and...computer science? Now they are. Both universities now offer courses in parallel computing to undergraduates. These types of classes are usually offered only at major research universities.
