Distributed Memory MIMD Programming and Operating Environment for Heterogeneous UNIX Computers on a Network

Columbus, Ohio -- January 14, 1994 -- Software development specialists at the Ohio Supercomputer Center have released Local Area Multiprocessor (LAM) to the parallel processing and cluster computing community. LAM has been ported to several leading UNIX machines such as Sun, SGI, RS/6000, DEC APX and to Cray running UNICOS. OSC Showcases Initiatives at International Supercomputing Conference

Columbus, Ohio -- November 3, 2005 -- The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) will showcase its Blue Collar Computing and Third Frontier Network (TFN) initiatives by highlighting these projects and more at Supercomputing 2005 (SC|05). A week-long international supercomputing conference, SC|05 is the world's leading event for high performance computing and research, and is a hotbed of collaboration opportunities. The conference will be held at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, Washington, on November 12-18.

Ohio Supercomputer Center Selects IBM To Provide New High Performance Computing Solution

COLUMBUS, Ohio – January 23, 2007 – The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) announced today the upgrade of its high performance computing (HPC) capacity with the acquisition of the IBM Cluster 1350.   This new system is projected to be one of the top 50 supercomputers in the world, making OSC among the top 10 academic supercomputing centers.
