Ohio Supercomputer Center Selects IBM For Massive Storage System

Combined Software and Hardware Solution Features SAN File System, Increases Client’s Storage Capacity Five-Fold

Columbus, OH and Armonk, NY -- January 16, 2004 – Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) announced today that it has selected IBM storage hardware and software to manage an immense repository of research data. Crucial data such as bioinformatics, which is generated through shared research applications provided by OSC, will reach thousands of researchers across the state of Ohio as a result of the agreement.

OSC Receives $6 Million for Springfield Supercomputing Center

Springfield, Ohio—December 3, 2003—The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) has received $6 million from the United States Department of Energy (DOE) to establish a supercomputing center in Springfield, Ohio. OSC will work closely with the DOE, the Department of Defense (DoD) center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and other local agencies to provide a high performance computing presence in southwestern Ohio.

Defense Department Renews Technology Transfer Contract With Ohio Supercomputer Center

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- May 19, 2004 -- The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) announced that the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) would receive $650,000 to provide technical leadership and program management to Mississippi State University (MSU) as it develops and improves high performance computing systems for the military. OSC will also receive $1.35 million to provide technical support in Signal Image Processing and Integrated Modeling and Test Environments.

Ohio Supercomputer Center Licenses LabBookÕs XML-Life Sciences Solution For the State Of Ohio

McLEAN, VA, and Columbus, Ohio – May 3, 2001 - LabBook, Inc., and OSC (Ohio Supercomputer Center) announced today that they have entered into an agreement that will provide LabBook’s XML-Life Sciences Solution to Ohio’s academic community. Terms and financing of the agreement were not disclosed.

OSC Supercomputers Benefit From New Home

Columbus, Ohio - May 16, 2002 - With extensive planning and assistance from a network of associates, OSC finished moving all supercomputing and memory systems to a new home this month. The new systems will be consolidated in a secure environment at the State of Ohio Computing Center (SOCC) in Columbus, Ohio, providing OSC with a secure and reliable facility with custom-based infrastructure.
