Doug Johnson and Troy Baer to Offer SC2001 Cluster Tutorial

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Sep 12, 2001) —

SC2001 programming bills tutorials as "exciting new offerings presented by some of the world's leading experts in high performance computing."

The tutorial will give an overview on designing, installing and administrating cluster computers. Cluster computers provide fast and reliable access to high performance computing in a production environment, and have been in use at OSC for some time. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about software configuration, high performance networks, resource management, scheduling and performance monitoring, and design methodology.

The full-day tutorial will take place on Monday, November 12. This year, SC2001 will be held in Denver, Colorado on November 10-16.
