Platform Lab Opens for Business

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Jan 31, 2002) — 

Platform Lab will be hosting a grand opening event on January 31, 2002, 4-6:30 p.m. at its facility at the Business Technology Center, 1275 Kinnear Road, Columbus. The Lab is now open for business and the first customers already are testing software applications.

Platform Lab is a shared software porting, testing and development facility designed to meet continually evolving information technology needs. Platform lab offers companies secure networks and physical access to the site, as well as software and hardware to support development and product testing. Expertise from the community in software development areas such as quality assurance, project management, security, database integration, database optimization and legacy-system integration can also be arranged.

Platform Lab is supported jointly by a partnership between OSC (Ohio Supercomputer Center) and the Business Technology Center (BTC) with assistance from the Ohio Department of Development Technology Action Fund, Ohio IT Alliance and industry vendors. Scheduled access to facility resources is available now.

The Lab is available to any organization or business interested in using lab platforms and resources to enhance business productivity.
