DOWNTIME FOR ALL CLUSTERS MARCH 14

A downtime is scheduled for all HPC systems starting March 14, 2018, beginning at 7:00 A.M. and scheduled to finish by 5 P.M. The downtime will affect the Oakley, Owens, Ruby clusters. Login services and access to storage will not be available during this time. In preparation for the downtime the batch scheduler will begin holding jobs that cannot complete before March 14 at 7:00 A.M.

Quantum Espresso 6.2.1 available on Owens

Quantum Espresso 6.2.1 has been installed on Owens; usage is via the module espresso/6.2.1. For information on available executables and installation details see the software page for Quantum Espresso or the output of the respective module help command, e.g.: module help espresso/6.2.1.  Note that packages GIPAW and WEST were not installed because they are not available with 6.2.1.

ROLLING REBOOTS OF ALL CLUSTERS STARTING FEBRUARY 5

We will have rolling reboots of Oakley, Ruby and Owens clusters starting from Monday Feb 5, 2018 to address recent CPU vulnerabilities. Login nodes will be rebooted first. The rolling reboots won't affect any running jobs, but users may experience longer queue wait time than usual on all clusters. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
