Date:
Tuesday, April 14, 2026 - 9:00am to Wednesday, April 15, 2026 - 5:00pm
Location:

The Ohio State University Fawcett Center

The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) will host a free special event April 14-15, 2026, featuring a National Science Foundation (NSF) ACCESS Regional Workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) and OSC’s annual Research Symposium showcase of Ohio high performance computing (HPC) innovations. The event will take place at The Ohio State University’s Fawcett Center.

AI Workshop

The NSF ACCESS Regional Workshop provides a unique opportunity for researchers, educators, and students to learn how to integrate AI tools in research and classroom settings. Part of a regional series based on the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot’s AI Unlocked: Empowering Higher Ed through Research and Discovery workshop, the event is designed to help institutions across the United States navigate the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Registration is free for the day and a half-long event, which is sponsored by the NSF ACCESS and NAIRR programs. Space is limited to 100 participants, and OSC anticipates receiving more applications to attend than available spots.

Travel support is available for hotel accommodations only for those traveling from outside a 50-mile radius of Columbus, Ohio. No transportation or other travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Registration for the NSF ACCESS Regional Workshop will open Jan. 15, 2026, and will close Feb. 10, 2026. A detailed agenda for the workshop will be released in January on the event site.

Research Symposium

The April event will feature OSC’s annual Research Symposium, which showcases how faculty, students, and industry in Ohio are using OSC’s HPC resources to advance research, education, and innovation – including in the fast-growing area of AI.

The symposium, which is free to attend, will be held in conjunction with the NSF ACCESS Regional Workshop on the morning of Wednesday, April 15, with a poster session and talks to be held that afternoon at the Fawcett Center.

Faculty, staff, and students from colleges, universities, research organizations and companies across Ohio and beyond are invited to attend.

OSC is now accepting proposals for the Research Symposium through the presentation portal. Visit the symposium website to learn about eligibility, acceptable topics, and allowed formats. All presented research will be curated into a comprehensive set of published proceedings.

Submissions are due prior to 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by Monday, March 16, 2026.

Registration for the event will open on March 3, 2026, and will close on April 6, 2026.
