This coming Friday – Sunday May 16-18, the Great Lakes Bioinformatics Consortium Conference (GLBIO) is being held at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital at the University of Cincinnati.  The Program and Conference Committees of GLBIO 2014 have put together an outstanding conference program that has something for everyone and includes a rapid-fire series of keynotes, tutorials, paper talks, flash presentations, and recent-publication short format highlight talks that encompass the analysis of data and the development of software platforms for nexgen genomics, systems biology, systems chemistry, drug screening and testing, and human, microbial, and comparative genomics.

The first day of the conference includes two simultaneous tutorial tracks including introduction to bioinformatics and genomics, diseasomics, data visualization and programming, cloud computing-based large-scale data analysis methodologies and large-scale chemical biology data set analyses.  The first keynote and barbeque dinner are on Friday night and the different conference modules include renowned speakers Tanya Berger-Wolf, Charles Brooks and Gary Bader, speaking on a wide range of topics, such as systems and computational chemistry, neurogenomics, biological network analysis, and algorithms for high dimensional data analysis. The program also includes nearly 100 cutting-edge research posters and 30 oral presentations from some of the best bioinformatics people coming in from Japan, Europe, and more than 10 states!

There are still a few hotel rooms available at the conference discounted rate!  Please reference the conference website, http://www.iscb.org/glbio2014, for more information.
