System Downtime June 21 2022

Date:
Tuesday, June 21, 2022 - 7:00am to 9:00pm
Location:

Ohio Supercomputer Center

A downtime for all OSC HPC systems is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2022. The downtime will affect the Pitzer and Owens Clusters, web portals, and HPC file servers. Client Portal (my.osc.edu) and state-wide licenses will be available during the downtime.

In preparation for the downtime, the batch scheduler will begin holding jobs that cannot be completed before 7 a.m., June 21, 2022. Jobs that are not started on clusters will be held until after the downtime and then started once the system is returned to production status.

Highlights of the downtime activities include:

  • Owens and Pitzer OS upgrade
  • InfiniBand switch firmware upgrade
  • Regular systems maintenance
  • Keycloak database update. It requires clients with CILogon mappings to re-map their CILogon identity after downtime
  • Apptainer update. See this Singularity page for more information
