The National Computational Science Institute (NCSI) will offer an introductory workshop entitled, "Introduction to Computational Science Modeling and Simulation in the Undergraduate Environment." OSC (Ohio Supercomputer Center) has announced that 18 of Ohio's middle-school girls have been selected to participate in its Young Women's Summer Institute (YWSI).
YWSI is a week-long program sponsored by OSC for middle-school girls in Ohio. It is designed to promote computer, math, and science skills as well as provide hands-on experiences. YWSI helps girls develop an interest in these subjects by allowing them to work on a practical, interesting scientific problem using the latest computer technology.
OSC (Ohio Supercomputer Center) has announced that 16 high school finalists will embark on its Summer Institute (SI) 2002: Experience the Future of Computing.
The OSC SI Program has been offered to Ohio's brightest high school freshmen and sophomores for 14 years. SI gives students the opportunity to work with OSC's most advanced supercomputers.

With extensive planning and assistance from a network of associates, OSC finished moving all supercomputing and memory systems to a new home this month. The new systems will be consolidated in a secure environment at the State of Ohio Computing Center (SOCC) in Columbus, Ohio, providing OSC with a secure and reliable facility with custom-based infrastructure.

Congratulations to Greg Kilcup, associate professor of physics at The Ohio State University (OSU)! He recently received OSU's Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. Dr. Kilcup also serves as chair for OSC's Statewide Users Group.
Columbus is set to host a technology conference that for the first time will bring together five nationally recognized technology institutions that play a major role in the development and distribution of information technology to the education and research communities nationwide.
The conference is a national event that draws participants from across the country in order to identify and discuss the challenges of and solutions to problems associated with networking technology and content delivery. It takes place April 14-16 at the OSU Fawcett Center in Columbus.
