There is a planned network maintenance with OSC systems on 28 Jan 2022. It is expected to cause a loss of connection to OSC systems for up to 5 mins during the maintenance window of 5am-6am on 28 Jan 2022.

We have been experiencing inconsistent performance degradation of ESS filesystem (/fs/ess), starting from 12/22/2021. Jobs might be impacted. We are working with vendor on this. The home directory quota when logging into systems, or displayed through OnDemand or client portal (my.osc.edu) is inaccurate after Dec 14 Downtime. System Downtime Dec 14, 2021
A downtime for all OSC HPC systems is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2021. During the downtime, the services including the Pitzer and Owens Clusters, web portals, state-wide licenses, HPC file servers, will not be available; there will also be a short outage of MyOSC.
In preparation for the downtime, jobs that cannot be completed before 7 a.m., December 14, 2021 will not start. These jobs will remain in the queues during the downtime.
Performance degradation of ESS filesystem
We have been experiencing performance degradation of ESS filesystem (/fs/ess), starting from around 1am November 25. Jobs might be impacted.

Very little free space for metadata on the scratch storage /fs/scratch
The scratch storage /fs/scratch has very little free space for metadata starting from Saturday, October 16. This may result in the failure of file or directory creations on /fs/scratch.
We have opened a case with the vendor and will keep you posted.
