Minimal impact on OSC services due to COVID-19
The Ohio Supercomputer Center, The Ohio State University and the Ohio Department of Higher Education are closely monitoring the impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak. In response to guidance from the State of Ohio, ODHE and OSU, OSC been directed to move to telework effective Friday, March 13th to reduce the odds of transmission of the virus.
The impact on service delivery is expected to be minimal. OSC Help and 24/7 hardware monitoring will continue as normal.
Accessing Parallel R tutorial

OSC project filesystem resuming normal operations
The issue with the Project file system that causes deletes of file system snapshots to fail has now been resolved. OSC Project file system has resumed normal operations. We are still working with our storage vendors to identify how to perform remaining maintenance work. We will update you as much advance notice as possible if it causes any disruption to users.
Huge memory nodes partial scheduling
Beginning on Tuesday, March 10th users are able to run jobs using less than a full huge memory node on both the Owens and Pitzer clusters.
Please consider your request more carefully when you plan to use a huge memory node, and specify the resources based on what you will use. Please check our documentation for more detailed guidance:

OnDemand is not responsive

(informational) GPFS maintenance work
Maintenance work on the GPFS servers is scheduled to be performed today, 28 Feb 2020 at 2:00p.m.
Although there is no direct impact expected to services at OSC, there may be short interruptions to storage services.
