We are aware of an issue where the OnDemand Shell app is not functioning in Firefox 148. If you encounter this problem, please use a different browser to access the OnDemand Shell app until this issue is resolved. We have confirmed that Chrome, Edge, and Safari are working.
We will share updates as more information becomes available.
After the most recent downtime we discovered that various OOD apps relying on the "virtualgl" module on Cardinal were broken. We have since updated and pinned the latest virtualgl version for each broken app
Trying to download a directory through code server results in the error "ondemand.osc.edu cannot open this folder because it contains system files"
To work around this, tar the directory first and download the .tar file, and untar it on your local machine
OSC will remove the default MATLAB Jupyter Kernel on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. To create your own Jupyter MATLAB Kernel please follow the documentation on the MATLAB Page
The core label on the OnDemand app incorrectly displays as '1', regardless of the requested number of cores for a job. While this label is incorrect, the job is still allocated the correct number of cores as intended. We are actively addressing this issue and plan to deploy a fix later. For additional details, please refer to the bug report: https://github.com/OSC/ondemand/issues/4056.
There is an issue with OnDemand or Awesim after the new release when downloading directories that are large in size.
Users may encouter issues downloading large directories. Staff are working to patch OnDemand for the issue. While the system is impacted, users should download files individually.
We apologize for the inconviencence while we try to correct the system.
Use this link to restart your web server if you have attempted to download a large directory and the system has become unstable.
There are currently issues with the Frame Renderer (Maya) interacitve app in ondemand.osc.edu

Terminal function from RStudio app through OnDemand does not work. It returns error as below:
Rstudio cannot launch terminals.
We are working on the fix. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Users of weld predictor software in ondemand will receive an error when trying to start these jobs.
The error shows:
Simulation failed to be submitted ... sbatch:error job failed to be submitted Job invalid: must specify account for job sbatch error
Create file ~/.slurm/defaults and add entry for account.
The problems with ondemand.osc.edu are now resolved.
Users will encounter errors using ondemand.osc.edu
ondemand.osc.edu will not be functional until we resolve the issues.
OSC staff are currently looking into the issues.
