Ohio Teachers Switch Seats With Their Students During Ohio Supercomputer Center Institute

Most of us can remember a time in school when we wished our teachers could walk in our shoes for just one day. The students of 10 Ohio high school and middle school teachers will receive satisfaction in knowing that their teachers are doing just that this summer.

Teachers from across Ohio are trading places with their students this week during the Computational Science Institute (CSI) at the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC). CSI hopes to open teachers' minds to new technologies that will expand the learning environment they create for their students.

Professors Enhance Curriculum, Student Workforce Readiness During SC07/Ohio Supercomputer Center Summer Program

 

Academia and businesses increasingly are using computational science to improve discovery methods and results. That’s why, to better prepare their students, 19 professors from the throughout the United States and Puerto Rico are attending a weeklong workshop at the Ohio Supercomputer Center that will teach them how to integrate the discipline into their undergraduate curriculums.

Ohio Supercomputer Center Offers MPI Workshop at Miami University

If you have research projects requiring large amounts of memory and/or CPU power, this upcoming workshop at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, is for you.

Held on May 17 and 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the “Parallel Programming with MPI” workshop will teach you how to leverage multiple processors to advance your science. This course, sponsored by Miami University and the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC), is geared toward those with C or Fortran programming language experience. It will be held in the University’s Gaskill Hall, room 201.

Find out what the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) is doing to give Ohio researchers in academia, industry, and government the competitive edge.

As a statewide resource, OSC offers high performance computing (HPC) workshops including a two-hour overview presentation packed with information about its hardware, software, network, services, and related resources. 

The workshop, “High Performance Computing at OSC: An Overview,” will be held on Jan. 10, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in OSC’s BALE theater.  Workshop attendees will learn about:
