Duo Mobile Update Required

For OSC users who require Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), please update Duo Mobile to version 4.85.0 or later by Feb. 2, 2026 to avoid login issues. To check your version, open Duo Mobile and scroll to the bottom. To see whether your OSC account requires Duo, log into my.osc.edu and check whether you are in the Duo group. Questions? OpenAI Python

OpenAI Python is the package used by python to access OpenAI's Ai models. OpenAI python provides support for OpenAI's REST API, It also provides synchronous and asynchronous sessions clients.

Availability and Restrictions

OpenAI python is currently available on the following clusters.

HOWTO: Use Docker and Singularity Containers at OSC

It is now possible to run Docker and Apptainer/Singularity containers on all clusters at OSC. Single-node jobs are currently supported, including GPU jobs; MPI jobs are planned for the future.

From the Docker website:  "A container image is a lightweight, stand-alone, executable package of a piece of software that includes everything needed to run it: code, runtime, system tools, system libraries, settings."

System Downtime January 6 2026

A downtime for OSC HPC systems is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The downtime will affect the Pitzer, Cardinal and Ascend Clusters, web portals, the state-wide licenses and HPC file servers. MyOSC (the client portal) will be available during the downtime. In preparation for the downtime, the batch scheduler will not start jobs that cannot be completed before 7 a.m., January 6. Jobs that are not started on clusters will be held until after the downtime and then started once the system is returned to production status.
